What Trek Is

Trek is a structured, spiritually focused activity where youth and leaders work together in “families” to experience (in a safe, modern way) a small taste of what pioneer life required: faith, teamwork, service, resilience, and gratitude.

Centered on the Savior through scripture, testimony, and worshipful moments.
Built around teamwork as youth serve, encourage, and help each other succeed.
Designed to strengthen testimony through sacrifice, reflection, and shared purpose.
Organized and supervised with safety, hydration, and planning as priorities.

What Trek Is Not

Just to set expectations clearly:

Not a “camping trip” with free time all day.
Not a competition or endurance stunt.
Not unsafe. Safety planning is intentional and constant.
Not something youth do alone. Leaders are present, trained, and engaged.

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is Trek physically? +

Trek involves walking and working together. It is designed to be challenging but doable. Leaders monitor safety, pace, hydration, and rest. If your youth has a medical concern, please use the forms on the Forms & Documents page and contact leaders early so we can plan well.

What should parents expect emotionally? +

Trek often becomes a “core memory.” Youth may feel tired, stretched, proud, and spiritually uplifted. Many come home with stronger testimony, deeper friendships, and more confidence.

What about phones? +
